Prepare the Garden

Meredith eagerly awaited for the next available train to take her to Blossom. She was to help prepare plots for all sorts of shrooms and this was enough to cause the young Dextro to squeal out loud. Folks around her stepped back as the train finally arrived and Meredith rushed on. She loved mushrooms and planting them, as it was her main source of income back at her parent's house. Blossom was at the station and was almost tackled as she greeted Meredith and the two set off to the plots. They chatted for a bit before coming up to the spot, and Blossom immediately got to work, explaining diligently the tasks at hand. Meredith was to gather the seeds and spread them as Blossom tended to the plot. A simple enough task…or so she thought. Apparently Meredith failed to tell Blossom how much of an honor it was for her, and Blossom wasn’t sure Meredith heard a single word. She showed Meredith where the supplies were and went to fill a water can. 

Meredith didn’t know if it was the pure adrenaline or the intense heat of the night, but the moment she opened the first bag of seeds, they exploded all over the place. Then the second bag, and the third. This was a disaster. Panicking, she went to pick them up and knocked over a pot of flowers, some soil, and a bucket of feed. She then scrambled to pick them up, before Blossom came dashing over. The two of them were working well to clean up the mess, and Meredith got to try again. This time she managed to actually plant them. The next task was to pick out any weeds visible. Once again, the young Dextro got too excited and managed to trip over the hoe a few feet in front of her. Picking herself up, she carefully pulled several weeds. Blossom went to get drinks for them as everything finally seemed okay. Big mistake. There was a loud crash the moment Blossom went inside her house, and she sighed in irritation before going to investigate. Somehow, Meredith set part of the plot on fire and was screaming to get water. Blossom became pale and rushed to turn on the hose at the side of the house. Once the fire was out, she demanded an explanation.

Meredith explained that she went to find a way to most efficiently pluck all the weeds, and she seen this barrel below some supplies in the barn. She went to climb up the barrel, tipping lighter fluid all over. During her fall, she went to grab the ledge of the shelf and matches came down, scrapping the side of the barrel, and igniting everything. Blossom was livid, and didn’t know what to say. Meredith was crying and apologizing profusely, so Blossom tried her best to calm Meredith down. It took a while but the two figured out a better plan. Blossom decided to let Meredith calm down, took her inside, and made dinner. Perhaps they would try to prepare the plots again tomorrow.
