Rán's Battle Reaction

This was all wrong, everything was just so wrong! Things were not supposed to be that way. Rán's thoughts were racing, and the inner turmoil resulted in her swimming frantically in- and outside her home, with no apparent pattern. Despite being a corrupted Dextroluma herself. Rán did not support what the rulers of the Blighted Lands were doing. She had somewhat expected that there was going to be an attack against the abyssal region, and her main concern regarding that prospect had been making sure her home was as unsuspecting and remote as possible. She had no desire to join politics. Her intention was that by lying low, the complicates messes would pass her by and sort themselves out without involving her in any way. At first, she had been relieved to learn that the war was not coming to her region of the world. But then, realization began to settle in. As a corrupt Dextroluma, she was at risk to be perceived as a supporter of the war and those leading it by default. Everyone and their grandmothers were forming opinions on the events, and it was quite obvious who the aggressor in this conflict was. Rán did not care abut any of the family drama that transpired into the news of the war. But she would have preferred both courts settling their issues differently. This was such a... human thing to do. There was nothing wrong with intrigues and symbolic thievery. Perhaps even a little bit of abduction and blackmail would have been fine. Anything that would have allowed Rán to stay out of it and to not get involved. But now she felt as if there was the inherent suspicion places on her, that she would be happy about what is happening, or disappointed by the lack of a swift victory. That she would want the Corrupted Court to win this war. Nobody was going to believe her that she didn't. Hopefully the entire mess would be over quickly. Perhaps it would be even favorable for her, if the Verdant Kingdom won this. 

Rán shook her head. This was truly messed up.
