Hazardous Harvest

"Got you!" Frauke announced grimly, and held up her knife. The blade's sharp edge glistened in the light. The purple and black blighted mushroom before her stood no chance. But thanks to Blossom, Frauke had learned that removing the visible fruiting body was not enough to really get rid of them. The vast network underground was the real issue. Still, making sure no spores were further released was a vital aspect of cleaning up the area. It had only recently been reclaimed by the forces of the Verdant Kingdom and its allies. 

With a tool that looked like a delicate, long fork, Frauke began to carefully remove any spawns she could find. Removing the microscopic mycel was going to be much more difficult, but that didn't mean that she shouldn't let the mushrooms know they were not welcome here.

All of the gathered mushroom parts were sealed tightly in special brightly yellow bags, that warned with a bright red sign about the biological hazard they contained.

When Frauke was sure there were no more visible spawns in the ground, she disinfected her tools throughly and vmcleaned the with a piece of cloth. It was then sealed away as well. With a small, also brightly yellow flag, she marked the spot for the team taking care of in-depth ground analysis.
