14) Bells

Esmé carefully hung another bell on a cabinet door, frowning as she did so. She shouldn't have needed to do all of this - no one in their family had any toddlers, after all. (Well, it wasn't exactly toddler proofing, but Nautilus could and would break toddler proofing items). No, this was all due to her sister's draphibian.

Cooking was going to be so obnoxious with bells on every cabinet door, the refrigerator and freezer doors... Ugh... She didn't know why Nautilus would remove child proofing locks but didn't remove bells, but whatever worked to stop her from rummaging through all their kitchen to steal food. If only the draphibian would just... behave and stay in a stable like normal draphibians. Then they could avoid this whole circus.

But no, Nautilus wasn't a normal draphibian. Why would Amata have gotten a normal draphibian? No, instead her sister had somehow convinced a fucking feral draphibian to follow her around and let her ride it. Because of course she had. Why would her sister do anything the normal way instead of doing something absurd and over the top? Just had to be unique and different...

And because of that, she had to hang bells all over the kitchen...

At least the holidays would be over soon.
