30) Dove
Jannah had never seen a dove in person, but she had been told they were seen as harbingers of peace and mercy on Earth.
Her wings and fins did not resemble any bird she knew of, but she suspected others saw her as whatever the opposite of a dove would be - it felt like misery, misfortune, and violence followed her wherever she went. It didn't seem to matter if she chose to bring those things with her or not, they simply followed her. She wished she at least knew why, but no matter how many times she laid in the day and cried for the loss that followed her, it never seemed to lessen or ease, and no answers ever came her way.
She could wish - did wish - for a dove, or something similar, to come her way. Something to brince peace to her life, mercy to negate the violence that shadowed her - a change from what was, to what she yearned for...
It was too painful to hope, often, yet nevertheless, she could never seem to successfully stamp it out of herself. For all the misery, there were joys, fleeting as they were. There were flowers, and the glimmer of the moons above. In the quiet, sometimes, she could almost imagine peace for her weary heart, even if it was dashed soon after. At least, in those lonely moments, it almost felt she had it.
don't. ask me what this means or what is going on with Jannah. I don't know. I just put my fingers to the keyboard and this came out and left me with a lot of questions ok
