Treats??

Silque never understood when customers asked her what treats she liked to feed Salad. She always served customers whatever they ordered, and the only difference with Salad is that she had to guess his orders. Mirai had told her that she couldn’t hear Salad because she didn’t understand his language, but that if she guessed his order wrong he would make a sound that she could hear. Thankfully, she had never guessed his order wrong because she never heard any sounds from him.

Picking up the menu since it was close to dinnertime, Silque scanned through it, trying to think of what Salad might be in the mood for. “Umm… how about the roast duck?” She glanced up at the Cowcap, who blinked back at her silently. Looks like she guessed right again. “Okay, it’ll be right out.” Silque took a few moments to set up his table and place him on his chair. Since he always came to work with her and ate several times a day, Salad now had his own dedicated table in the cafe. It seems he had become popular, something about a ‘mascot’ but Silque didn’t really get it. She’d never heard of regular customers becoming famous in other restaurants or cafes, but then again, since Salad was the mayor of their town now, maybe that was why?? Best not to think too much about it, or else her head might start hurting.

Silque went into the kitchen to prepare Salad’s order, and she made sure to add a bunch of sauces that she knew he liked. Ranch, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, soy sauce… she knew he liked all of these because he never said otherwise.

“Dinner is served.” Silque presented the roast duck covered in a myriad of sauces to Salad, who ate it silently. Another happy customer.
