WHAT ARE SCAVENGER HUNTS?
Scavenger Hunts are site activities in which claimable objects are hidden throughout the site! These items are clickable and will take you to a page in which you can claim them!
GENERAL SCAVENGER HUNT RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Scavenger Hunts are intended to be done alone but you are welcome to work together privately with friends!
2. Do not spoil any locations for the Scavenger Hunts in the Discord Server or Site; you may receive a warning if you do so!
3. Scavenger Hunts can have 1-10 items per Scavenger Hunt.
4. Scavenger Hunts can last between 24 hours to 2 months. The average Scavenger Hunt time is one week.
5. Typically, Scavenger Hunts will occur once or twice a month, but during events, more may occur.
6. Typically, one Scavenger Hunt is active at a time, but during events, multiple may be active.
7. You can view how many items you've claimed by visiting the active Scavenger Hunt Page
8. Scavenger Hunts will be announced via our Discord Server! Join the server and get the role to be pinged for new Scavenger Hunts
9. Lorekeeper has several pages that look similar but are in fact different. Make sure to check the site thoroughly for any items! Check all the drop-downs and sidebars that you can!
WHERE CAN ITEMS BE HIDDEN?
Scavenger Hunt Item can be hidden anywhere Mods can edit text boxes!
POSSIBLE LOCATIONS
Possible Locations include but are NOT limited to
- Masterlist Entries and Profiles
- Dailies
- Shops
- Prompts
- News Posts
- Sale Posts
- Categories
- Gallery Submissions
- Features on the World Index Page (items, traits, pets, etc.)
- Features on the World Info Page (books, locations, etc.)
- Profiles
- User Shops
- ANY location that has a text description that can be edited
NOTICE!
Rarely will Scavenger Hunt Items be hidden in Character Profiles, User Profiles, User Shops, Gallery Submissions, Etc. that belong to Member, Booster, Guest Artist, or Pet Artist Rank Users
On occasion, Scavenger Hunt Items can be hidden in a location that Users can edit (for example Character Profiles, User Profiles, User Shops, Gallery Submissions, Etc.) Most of the time items hidden in such locations will be restricted to Users with the Mod or Admin Rank. For example, an item may be hidden on a Mod or Admin Rank Profile but rarely if ever a Member Rank Profile. When checking Character Profiles, User Profiles, User Shops, Gallery Submissions, Etc. it's best to look at Mod or Admin Rank Users first.
WHAT CAN SCAVENGER HUNT ITEMS LOOK LIKE
Most commonly Scavenger Hunt items will appear as the item you can claim, other times they will be more hidden in the site!
REGULAR SCAVENGER HUNT ITEM
CONCEALED BEHIND IMAGES
Scavenger Hunt Items that are concealed behind images are often more tricky to spot! These Scavenger Hunt Items are hidden behind images that already exist on the page so nothing is obviously out of place. In the example to the left the Scavenger Hunt Item that is claimable is a Dreamy shard but the image you click on is one that already existed on the page!
cONCEALED BEHIND LINKS
Scavenger Hunt Items that are concealed behind links are also another type that's tricky to spot! These links or hyperlinks may look a little out of place as the word containing the link may be random or the link on the page may be out of place. In the example to the left the Scavenger Hunt Item that is claimable is an Embers shard but there is no image to click and instead, there is a hyperlink in the word "Dextroluma"!
