Flu Season and Winter Spirit

Summary

During the Flu Season and Winter Spirit event, users met two new dextroluma - Dr. Pepperoni McBizzarolli and Thimble.  As Thimble had come down with the flu, interrupting her normal winter plans - where she hands out gifts and free hot chocolate and snacks at the various government Archives across Aerius - Queen Iola escorted her to the Ouchies, Ouchies, Go Away! clinic in Haven despite her protests.  With treatment from Dr. McBizzarolli, Thimble recovered quickly... although she seemed quite afraid of Queen Iola's best friend.  How odd!

Awards

The award for this event was the 'Mysteriously Sticky Note', which was crafted with two items available from event prompts.
Additionally, in December, we released the 'Dubious Stew Lover' award, earned by completing a particular prompt, and the 'Tower of Presents' award for a scavenger hunt where users found ten present trinkets scattered around the site.

Observer's Notebook - Flu Season and Winter Spirit

New Pets

Flu Season and Winter Spirit introduced the cowcap and the nurse variant Stewy.  Due to plans for the event after this one - Milk 'n' Cookies - users were limited to only one cowcap.  Thanks to indecisiveness on the mods' parts, Nurse Stewy was also not immediately available.  Oops.

New Characters

This event introduced Peppy and Thimble.

New Items

We added Keepsakes for Thimble and Peppy, along with the items used for crafting the award, a nurse cookie, snapshots of the Ouchies, Ouchies, Go Away! clinic and a snowy mountainside, several festive borders, and a number of present trinkets.

New Ingredients & Dishes

Three new dishes were added during this time - Arroz con Leche, Hot Chocolate, Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup, and Jalapeño Poppers.  In addition to the tomatoes and cocoa beans needed to craft those dishes, the ingredients of leather, paper, and string were added so that users could craft books, small crystal pouches, and large crystal pouches.

Anything Else?

During the event, we also upgraded our servers to Lorekeeper v. 3.0, in preparation for upcoming events that required us to update.  Although it was a very messy process, stokori got us through it!
