Gextro

Miscellaneous

APPEARANCE

Much different from Draphibian, Gextro are much, much smaller in size! At most they might reach the size of an average medium sized dog, but they’re often quite small. Most Gextro are chubbier with thick, frog-like skin, however they aren’t slimy at all! They have large eyes and small snouts. It’s quite common to see a Gextro replicate Dextroluma fins, this wasn’t always the case but it seems like something they’ve mimicked over time.

Similar to Dextroluma, they enjoy eating regional mushrooms which grant them glowing eyes and baubles; they don’t really gain any magical properties from them, though.

Gextro come in a variety of different colors and shapes, their tails could be more frog-like, fish-like or even croc-like! Some Gextro are able to grow fur for harsher climates and others might change completely, having slender, snake-like bodies to aid them in swimming or hunting.

HABITAT

Like Draphibian, Gextro favor forested areas and small caves to call home when out in the wild. They prefer areas with small pools of water to relax them and revitalize their skin. They are most commonly found in the forest and mountain regions but can be found in others. They may differ in appearances though to adapt to certain areas!

As of recent times, Gextro have become much more brave and will steal crops from the farmers to feed themselves and their young, they seem to favor apples, potatoes and tomatoes the most. Most farmers now have Draphibian guarding their crops in order to scare away wild hungry Gextro.

Since it is more common to see them now in Dextroluma homes and stores they have the life of luxury like any old human pet! Cozy beds, play areas and food on demand! What more could they ask for!

ROLES

Gextro fill the role of pets on Aerius, however some have come to join Draphibian in helping aid some Dextroluma with work. Some Gextro are great for sniffing truffles out in the forests and this seems to be the most common working role of many Gextro!

There are many jobs for the little critters, including, but not limited to: Seeing eye pets, Emotional support pets, Elderly support and so on.

DIET

Gextro are omnivores, they will eat pretty much anything to sate their appetite. Their diets consist mostly of fresh grown vegetables, mushrooms and fish, but they may just give you the old puppy dog eyes for a small helping of mushroom steak…

REPRODUCTION

Like Draphibian, Gextro also will lay eggs! Significantly less eggs, mind. It’s quite typical for Female Gextro to lay unfertilized eggs every 3 weeks during mating season. They will lay around 1-4 eggs, 2 being most common. Their mating season also starts in April and lasts until June.

Once eggs are laid, it will take 40-60 days until they hatch. Infertile eggs will be a soft blue color and Fertile eggs are glassy in appearance, comparable to frogspawn!

Gextro like to lay their eggs in the water, similar to frogs. These glassy eggs will spend their entire egg life in the water until they’re ready to hatch.

LIFESPAN

Gextro unfortunately don’t live as long as Draphibian and usually live for around 90-100 years. Of course, like Draphibian this is dependent on their health.

CORRUPTION

Corruption will also affect Gextro and heavily decrease their lifespan in half, giving them only little time on Aerius if left untreated. The cure will work on Gextro and will grant them the same gray, dull glowing eyes that most have come to recognize as cured.
