Approximately five centuries ago, teleporters were created for travel to Andara, to spare travelers the disconcerting experience of their gravity being forcibly altered.  There followed almost two centuries where no lockettes traveled directly from Anchorage to Malpais, nor ventured near the border where sea became sky.

It is unknown exactly when Lunarimar began to grow, due to this.  The fledgling sphere was discovered by lockettes only when its moons began to affect the tides of Anchorage - and actual discovery was delayed as the residents of Anchorage, naturally, began to look for new spheres in the vicinity of Alta.

When it was discovered, Lunarimar already had a populace of several thousand, and had already established the city of Reef, as well as methods for recording their history and experiences in ways that survived the water in which they lived.

Initially, lockettes assumed these strange beings were simply lockettes with different features, although some doubted that from the beginning, due primarily to the fact that dexettes had a different writing system and language than lockettes did, an occurrence that had never before been seen.

Not all dexettes remembered their origins, but enough had the pieces to connect the puzzle for the lockettes, once translation was established with the assistance of humans, who naturally possess more linguistic variance than lockettes and had, historically, navigated the same puzzle with lockettes.  (Kipitins, of course, never had required such an effort, as they are able to be understood by anyone they wish).

Exploration of Lunarimar discovered multiple permanent doorways to a new world… and soon, first contact was made with the dextroluma.
