Interactions with Humans & Dextroluma

In contrast to humans, who fell in love with Aerius and were eager to obtain new forms of technology from the dextroluma, dextroluma and lockettes initially felt they had little to offer each other.  Lockette tourists flooded Aerius and dextroluma tourists flooded Maquette, but at the official level, they simply ignored each other.

This was perhaps due to growing tensions within different spheres of Maquette at the time, however, particularly within the Heartlands, which has historically been the seat of Artisinal religious dominance.  Humans and lockettes had begun to wear on each other.

There are numerous reasons these tensions are attributed to - humans were uneasy with the overwhelming power and danger that even a singular lockette can represent, certainly.  In smaller cities and towns of the Heartlands in particular, they had begun to segregate lockettes away from themselves, something many lockettes bore patiently with the belief that humans would acclimate eventually.

Of course, human fear of lockettes was hardly unwarranted.  Not long after Lunarimar was discovered, a fanatic Artisan had attacked one human settlement in Dimensa with the aim of reaching their permanent doorway to destroy it.  He killed over two thousand humans - including their young - within minutes, before another lockette stopped him.  One of his friends attacked in Lunarimar at the same time, but was killed by the dexettes there before they could cause any harm.  Such incidents began to occur more often, although no attacks would be as swift and successful as the slaughter in Dimensa.

In addition to segregating lockettes away from themselves within certain towns and villages, some humans took matters in a more dangerous direction, setting up secretive laboratories within Myrkvid where they studied saura and lockettes who were fragile enough for even their weak species to capture.  From these labs came the infamous saura jars, possession experiments, and more.

Of course, these would run for nearly a century before discovery.

In the meantime, humans from Earth decided to get themselves into a war on Aerius.
