The Cure

The Cure is not the technical name of the elixir, but rather, its colloquial name (along with ‘Tears of Salvation’, as it is called by many elixir shops).  It might be better understood as a Necrosis Suppressant.  However, for brevity, we will refer to it as the cure throughout this section.  The cure comes in two forms - injectable and liquid.  Liquid is widely available and can be purchased without a prescription.  It is described by those familiar with human medications as being similar to a ‘mixture of dayquil and pepto-bismol’.  It has to be taken twice a day every day for the rest of the dextroluma’s lifespan.  The injection requires a prescription to be dispensed, and is much more expensive.  It requires a licensed medical professional to administer it into one of the cheeks of the ass, however, it stays in the patient’s system for a month, and must be taken every month for the rest of the dextroluma’s life.

Although it is unable to fully rid a host dextroluma of the parasitic Elder Mushrooms, it is capable of neutralizing their effects over time, if begun before the onset of Stage 4 and taken regularly for the rest of the dextroluma’s lifespan.  It is unable to fully reverse all effects - all cured dextroluma are sterile and display dim glows in a range of grays depending on what stage they were in when they begun taking the cure.

The cure is best understood through phases and a list of its side-effects in those phases, similarly to the parasite it manages.
