No one except Morgana is quite sure how, exactly, the couple gained access to a teleporter from the Crystal Isles.  Morgana was from there originally, and her sister still lived there, although the two had not been in contact for a long time at that point.  Speculation holds that it might have been stolen from a raided ship or that perhaps a technician experienced in their creation was somehow swayed to their side…

What the world knows for certain is that one night, safety was shattered again.  Corrupt dextroluma poured forth from the teleporters in the Crystal Palace, unleashing violence in what had been considered one of the safest nations on Aerius.  Numerous servants and guards were kidnapped or killed, and the Queen herself was infected and harmed.  For unknown reasons, the corrupt retreated even though they were not properly routed by the forces of the Crystal Guards.  Perhaps they knew that Galactica and the Arcane Artifice had both been alerted and were hurrying to marshal their guards to the defense of the Crystal Isles.  Perhaps they simply had some other goal.  They disappeared into their teleporter with their captives and disconnected it so they could not be followed.

The Queen was able to be cured rapidly, but in spite of the fact she had not even changed - due in part to how quickly the cure was administered to her - many of her people now opposed her or despised her.  She was, understandably, traumatized by the attack as well as how she was treated.  It was not long before she wound up stepping down from her role as a Royal and disappearing, leaving the region.  Although her role has since been filled, the events of the attack have scarred the sense of safety many dextroluma once had, and left them fearful of what the corrupt of the Blighted Wilds might do next.
