Realm of Tides (Ocean)

The Realm of Tides is arguably the largest nation on Aerius' surface, as it encompasses not only most of the ocean but also most islands and beaches - although it is the most recent nation to face a split, as the Azure Coast was once part of its territory.

Due to its massive size and large populace of varying lifestyles, it can be difficult to really make sweeping statements about the Realm.

Some parts have a reputation as unsafe, due to their proximity to the Blighted Wilds, while others are known for safety, such as popular resorts that cater to the wealthy. Some settlements welcome tourists eagerly, and some do everything in their power to avoid them. Some are completely disconnected from the concept of tourists - especially the ones that are close to the Eternal Depths and might even be surprised to learn that they are technically part of the Realm of Tides instead.

Technology levels vary - there are efforts to try to modernize more of their infrastructure, but they often wind up simply adopting whatever the Depths have done when it comes to more personal technologies. For medical technologies, however, no effort is spared, as the most prominent parts of the nation pride themselves on their medical knowledge and technologies, seeing it as a defining characteristic of their nation. It is true that Medic Bay is known throughout Aerius and even much of the rest of the galaxy as one of the best medical universities available - but there are also parts of the Realm that wish the things they pride themselves for were cared about as much as the medicine.
