The Great Sea Of Sand (Desert)
The nation is known as a repository of historical records and information. Their scholars have worked for many generations to keep records not only on their own nation's activities, but also on others - which has proven quite handy for some nations, such as the Obsidian Peaks, that regularly lose buildings to nature.
Most settlements are situated around the Moccassin River for easy access to water. Given that Dextroluma were once entirely aquatic, it's easy to understand why these places were chosen and why they have remained inhabited for so long. Much of the desert is deeply unforgiving to life that requires a lot of water, after all, and so although the whole desert is part of the kingdom, the whole desert is not necessarily inhabited... There are rumors of a historical cult still surviving deep in the desert, surviving on banned magic and cannibalism, but those are generally believed to just be rumors. After all, Dextroluma are generally believed to be peaceful, including by themselves - sure there's necrosis, but that's just corruption, not what the rumors claim of this cult. It's probably just still talked about to scare children away from exploring the desert too much, surely...
The Great Sea is a primary thoroughfare for trade to other regions, thanks to the Moccassin River. Although known best for their ancient past, they are still a thoroughly modern nation - at least on the banks of the river. The Queen's Law only holds so far in this vast territory, and the further a community lies from the river, the less likely it is for her rule to be cared for or for there to be the infrastructure to support and maintain things like power grids. When further out communities do possess more modern technology, it is usually operated more by magic than by electricity from any source.
