The Crystal Spire

The Crystal Spire is an immense crystalline tower located several days of travel by foot from each of the Smoke Pass’ three cities. It is a massive crystalline tower, and is believed to belong to the Creator. It is uncertain how she built it, as the crystalline form is smooth and unbroken. Floating chunks of crystal circle the Spire, and smokestorms often encircle the base. The Crystal Spire is used as ‘true North’ by all the Kipitin settlements that currently exist, as it can be seen from everywhere in the Smoke Pass due to the lack of a horizon curve.
Some Kipitin have constructed or brought buildings to rest around the base of the Spire. They typically do not keep organic species, including sapients, in these buildings, due to the smokestorms.
