Diamond Heights
The Heartlands inside Key
Can be home to characters.
Most of Key is densely crowded and populated, and while this is convenient for commerce and activities, it does not really allow for one to show their wealth off with immense estates. About a thousand years ago, wealthy lockettes who wished to show their wealth began to build estates on the north bank of the Ventricle River that cuts through Key, and the area has retained those features thanks to zoning laws and lobbying from Diamond Heights' inhabitants.
The sprawling estates of Diamond Heights are full of exotic plants and materials, often imported from actual planets like Earth or Aerius, or from Maquette's more bizarre spheres. The manors and mansions are typically palatial, and you may easily find a home resembling a roman villa next to one that is a literal spaceship. Property taxes are astronomical here, yet they barely make a dent in the accumulated wealth of the inhabitants.
There are very few restaurants and shops allowed in Diamond Heights - the handful that exist are typically owned by a resident, and are incredibly costly to visit.
