Emerald Cove

The Heartlands inside Key

Can be home to characters.

On the south-eastern banks of the Ventricle River lies a cozy little area known as Emerald Cove. Dexette residents have transformed a once neglected area into a lively and fun area.

In centuries past, this cove was simply a dumping ground for trash and things no one wanted to be found.  Occasionally, a more environmentally minded group of lockettes would clean it up, and then the cycle would start anew.

Things changed as dexettes began to manifest more and more across Maquette.  A number gravitated towards this cove, and they cleaned it up - and stayed.  Attempts to return it to being a dumping ground were blocked - sometimes forcefully - by the new inhabitants, as they worked to cultivate the land.  With time, lush grass and trees took root in the Emerald Cove, the water became clean and perfect for swimming, and the dexettes began to tolerate visitors.

Nowadays, Emerald Cove is something akin to a resort town.  There is more greenery in the cove than there is in the rest of Key, and the community is dedicated to keeping it that way.  Emerald Cove has the third highest population of dexettes in all Maquette, and while they are legally part of Key...  Well, they have their own government for internal affairs, and their own guard.  Some within the district eye the rest of Key with an eye to improving its environment, but that's still an out-of-reach ambition for them.
