Flaw is a mining town. Crystals for use in teleporters and personal access devices are extracted here to be refined to their final forms by approved manufacturers.

Most approved manufacturers have a small warehouse of some sort here, and their workshops where the final products are made in Diamond City. Of course, Flaw isn't solely a place where mining happens - everyone has lives to live when they aren't working, after all, and there are restaurants and shops for them, if rather fewer than someone from another region might imagine. Thanks to the teleporters, most who live here find their entertainment just a few seconds away in Diamond City.
