The Dome

It is easily one of the gaudiest cities on Aerius.  Thanks to complete control over the climate, the city can be designed quite impractically and extravagantly.  Some buildings are effaced in precious metals or crystals, some built primarily from glass.  The most practical are built from stone - but the truly extravagant buildings are the ones with any amount of wood, one of the most difficult materials to bring to the abyssal range.  The most prestigious lounge in the entirety of the Dome has a bar counter made of solid wood and in its off hours, they sometimes allow in groups of young Dextroluma to view it, as it may be their first or even only glimpse of wood in their lives.

The city imports nearly everything from the surface, or even the rest of the Eternal Depths, although they make attempts to pretend they aren't under the rule of any Royal, to the frustration of more than a few rulers.  For now, they're tolerated - but should they ever cross certain lines, well...  There are ways to force entrance into a dome like this.
