Morgue Station
Galactica
Can be home to characters.
The Morgue Station is comprised of two sections, a constructed station where employees live for six-month shifts, and an asteroid anchored to it where the proper morgue is built.
Morgue Station receives regular drop-offs of the corpses of corrupted dextroluma from the planet. The bodies are loaded up from secure facilities in most of Aerius' nations (other than the Blighted Wilds), and transported by spacecraft to the asteroid's morgue. They are then processed by employees of the Morgue Station who verify death and then pack them into tube-shaped coffins. The coffins are then loaded into a specialized spacecraft that flies to the edge of the Sun's 'safe zone' (relating to temperature) and launches them with a cannon-like force into the sun to be immolated in it, which is believed to be the safest way to dispose of these remains.
Most employees of Morgue Station are nunukes or lockettes, although there are occasional dextroluma, dexettes, or even kipitins who will take up the work. The part of the station where employees live is as packed with entertainment options as the Galactica government could make it, and all amenities on the station are free. Pay is extremely high, additionally, even though the spores from necrosis are only a hazard to dextroluma. Employees wear HAZMAT level protections while working. After daily work shifts - and at the end of their six-month shifts - employees undergo strict decontamination procedures to ensure no spores make it into the living quarters, let alone back to the rest of Galactica.
