Traits
Scales (Mutation)
Some Dextroluma grow scales on their skin - sometimes they have them from birth, and other times they are grown later in life, brought on by unknown circumstances. While it is popularly believed that scales hearken back to an ancestor of the Dextroluma, evidence is inconclusive at this time. Scales do not harm the body, and can grow in anything from small patches to completely covering most of the skin. Most Dextroluma whose scales grow in large quantities will try to keep them only where they find them comfortable, and may also prune them to create a better aesthetic, but it isn’t necessary to do that. Scales can be sharp and pointed, and others round and soft feeling, like fish, and can glimmer under light. Scales can be ANY COLOR and do not need to match the glow color(s).
Interrupted Change (Mutation)
Some Dextroluma may possess different feet depending on the region they are genetically from. Typically a Dextroluma's feet and legs match (two normal feet, two frog feet etc.) However sometimes Dextroluma possess legs that do not match each other (one hoof and one frog leg, one paw and one hoof leg).
[Note: This can only occur within their like region category and can not cause , for example frog and pawed feet to be mixed]
In addition, Dextroluma of the Hyperspace, Delta and or Crystal region can be born with floating fins or horns. Most of the time, all horns and all fins are affected however in some instances one fin or horn may float while another on the body may not.
Functioning Wings (Seasonal)
On rare occasions, a Dextroluma may be born with functional wings. These are wholly different from the wings of the Fairy Glen Dextroluma, as they are able to work for flight and are most commonly feathered bird wings, leather bat wings or can sometimes appear to be made of unique materials.
Unique Material Horns (Seasonal)
On rare occasions, a Dextroluma may be born with horns that are an abnormal material. These are generally things not found naturally in the world, such as glass or metal, and can be filled with liquids.
Transparent Skin (Seasonal)
On rare occasions, a Dextroluma may be born with skin that is sheer and shows their bones and/or organs. This can affect the entire body or only a section of it. As the Dextroluma ages, they may learn to change how transparent their skin is, though that is not a given.
Summonable (Seasonal)
On rare occasions, a Dextroluma may be born with the ability to summon something. Most often this is a creature of some sort - and not always one native to Aerius - but it may also be weapons or other items. There are many theories on this particular innate ability, but no conclusions as to why some Dextroluma have it.
Quills (Common)
Quills are a quite unusual feature among Dextroluma, but some are born with them anyways. These quills can grow from any part of the body, and match the skin color or glow color(s) of the Dextroluma. They can aid the Dextroluma in their spatial awareness, similar to a cat’s whiskers, and can give them sensory input about motion of things near them both in water and on land.
Glow Colored Eyes (Admin)
Most Dextroluma's eyes indicate whether they are pure, cured or corrupt however, some Dextroluma’s eyes will abruptly change to match their glow color(s). This is believed to be caused by a short-lived virus, but scientists have not had much opportunity to study it or figure out how it is contracted by some Dextroluma and not by others in their lives. Regrettably, this change can cause problems for the Dextroluma who contract it, as it is often mistaken for necrosis.
Chains (Common)
Some Lockettes manifest with ‘chains’ attaching their charms to their collar. The reasons for this are unknown, but it happens so often it is seen as unremarkable. These ‘chains’ are often literal chains, but can also be strings or ropes or something else.
Wings (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with wings. These wings can be anywhere on the shell and of any size, with larger ones sometimes being capable of letting the Lockette fly. They may also take different forms - feathered, leather, insect, or even being comprised of metal or something else. The wings may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
Horns (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with horns. These horns can be anywhere on the shell and of any size. They may also be made of anything, though it is more typical to see ones made of skin, bone, or scales. The horns may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
Halos (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with one or more halos. These halos can be anywhere on or around the shell and of any size. They may also be made of anything. The halos may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
Extra Ears (Rare)
Some Lockettes do not manifest only with one pair of ears, but with multiple. While at least two of the total ears on these Lockettes will always have their charm, there are occasionally additional ears seen where the charm is not present. The extra ears do not always match in shape, but each individual pair of ears will match (such as having one pair of cat ears and one pair of dog ears).
Extra Tails (Rare)
Some Lockettes do not manifest only with one tail, but with multiple. While at least one tail on these Lockettes will always have their charm, there are occasionally extra tails seen where the charm is not present. The extra tails do not always match in shape.
Body Crystals (Rare)
Some kipitins are created with crystal on their bodies. It doesn’t hurt them, and it doesn’t grow beyond the areas it naturally occurs. It’s not something contagious either, just an unusual feature that sometimes appears.
Body crystals does not transfer to the smoke form, as everything solid about the kipitin becomes smoke.
Tangible Wings (Rare)
On occasion, a kipitin is created with wings. These wings can be anywhere on the body and of any size, with larger ones sometimes being capable of letting the kipitin fly. They may also take different forms - feathered, leather, insect, or even being comprised of metal or something else. The wings can be toggled on and off by Kipitins.
Wings do not transfer to the smoke form unless they are made of smoke (which requires utilizing the partial smoke transformation), as everything solid about the kipitin becomes smoke.
Mushroom Horns (Regional)
Mushrooms of any shape, size, and color can grow in place of a Forest Dextroluma’s horns. If, for some reason, you feel inclined to nibble on your own horns, they will grow back!
Hooves (Regional)
Some Dextroluma of the forest region can be born with hooves instead of feet. This has assisted them in finding certain varieties of mushroom that have to be dug up, and allows them to move faster than other dextroluma. Forest Dextroluma with hooves can have skin, hair, or fur on their legs with the hooves, but it ends at the knee. (Fur and hair can be any color, skin must match their skin or use their glow/fin color).
[Rules note: The common version of this trait requires all natural legs to match.]
Moss Growth (Regional)
Moss finds its way into and onto all sorts of places, including the bodies of Dextroluma! Moss is harmless to Dextroluma, just think of it like body hair! If removed, it’ll most likely grow back, and it doesn’t always have to be in the same place!
[Rules Note: Moss cannot grow in a way that harms or impairs the body (i.e. it cannot cover eyes or impair the throat or replace a leg).]
Frog Feet (Regional)
Frog Feet seem to be an adaptation in some Rainforest Dextroluma that help them in reaching high places and swimming. These Dextroluma are also often found to be much bouncier in nature!
[Rules note: The common version of this trait requires all natural legs to match.]
