Traits
Multicolored Glow (Mutation)
All dextroluma have a glow, which affects their body markings, their fins, any baubles they may have, their blood and organs, their genitalia and nipples, and can determine the color of their horns as well. Some dextroluma may have multiple colors to their glow. All glow colors must be present between the fin and baubles in order to be present in and on the rest of the body, but not every color used on the fin and baubles has to also be found on the rest of the body.
Charm As Collar (Mutation)
Infrequently, a Lockette is seen who did not form anything that registers as a collar. Instead, only their charm manifested in that area. This can appear as a charm simply embedded in the neck, or even a “collar” composed solely of different iterations of the charm.
Unique Keyhole Shape (Mutation)
On occasion, Lockettes have a different shape of keyhole. This can range from simple pawprints to a cracked open spot or a crown shape. Lockettes do not always manifest with these types of keyholes - sometimes, a standard keyhole may experience enough damage that its shape breaks, or be lost entirely if it was on a limb that was fragmented completely away. This is unusual, as the space around a keyhole is typically stronger than normal, but it is not unheard of…
Fatal Damage (Mutation)
Some Dextroluma possess an unnerving ability to survive things that should have killed them. From eye sockets that don’t need support to prevent collapse to surviving decapitation to being skinned to having limbs they can attach and reattach at will or not having their organs… Some Dextroluma are simply built different!
Extra Limbs (Mutation)
This mutation occurs naturally only, it cannot appear over time. There is no limit to how many limbs can be featured on a Dextroluma, however additional torsos cannot be added - you have to work with the typical humanoid shape. All the following options can be placed anywhere on the body, not only where they would naturally grow from - this includes limbs, hands, feet, facial features, genitalia, breasts, even heads.
[Note that if a ref of a child-aged Dextroluma includes this trait, you MAY NOT depict extra genitalia or your reference will be rejected and you will receive a warning.]
Crystal Growth (Mutation)
Crystal Overgrowth can affect any Dextroluma. While it commonly grows through wounds in the skin, it can easily grow over body parts, covering or even destroying eyes, legs, and more. Most Dextroluma will try to keep their crystals under control by removing them from the body if they become uncomfortable, but it can flare out of control unpredictably. Crystals can be ANY COLOR and do not need to match the glow color(s).
Floral Growth (Mutation)
Flower Overgrowth can, at a glance, seem similar to the final stage of Necrosis (the 5th Stage) or to the Swamp Region’s Moss Growth. Of course, it is quite different. Only flowers and small leafy plants can grow from Flower Overgrowth - no mushrooms, vines, or moss. Like Crystal Overgrowth, it commonly grows through wounds in the skin. It can easily grow over body parts, covering or even destroying eyes, legs, and more. Most Dextroluma will try to keep their flowers under control by removing them from the body if they become uncomfortable and pruning regularly, but it can flare out of control unpredictably. Flowers and plants can be ANY COLOR and do not need to match the glow color(s) or natural colors.
Scales (Mutation)
Some Dextroluma grow scales on their skin - sometimes they have them from birth, and other times they are grown later in life, brought on by unknown circumstances. While it is popularly believed that scales hearken back to an ancestor of the Dextroluma, evidence is inconclusive at this time. Scales do not harm the body, and can grow in anything from small patches to completely covering most of the skin. Most Dextroluma whose scales grow in large quantities will try to keep them only where they find them comfortable, and may also prune them to create a better aesthetic, but it isn’t necessary to do that. Scales can be sharp and pointed, and others round and soft feeling, like fish, and can glimmer under light. Scales can be ANY COLOR and do not need to match the glow color(s).
Interrupted Change (Mutation)
Some Dextroluma may possess different feet depending on the region they are genetically from. Typically a Dextroluma's feet and legs match (two normal feet, two frog feet etc.) However sometimes Dextroluma possess legs that do not match each other (one hoof and one frog leg, one paw and one hoof leg).
[Note: This can only occur within their like region category and can not cause , for example frog and pawed feet to be mixed]
In addition, Dextroluma of the Hyperspace, Delta and or Crystal region can be born with floating fins or horns. Most of the time, all horns and all fins are affected however in some instances one fin or horn may float while another on the body may not.
Wings (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with wings. These wings can be anywhere on the shell and of any size, with larger ones sometimes being capable of letting the Lockette fly. They may also take different forms - feathered, leather, insect, or even being comprised of metal or something else. The wings may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
Horns (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with horns. These horns can be anywhere on the shell and of any size. They may also be made of anything, though it is more typical to see ones made of skin, bone, or scales. The horns may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
Halos (Mutation)
On occasion, a Lockette manifests with one or more halos. These halos can be anywhere on or around the shell and of any size. They may also be made of anything. The halos may represent a clue at the origin of their saura, though there is little conclusive evidence to this supposition.
